The MOA Board of Trustees
  • Approved a $1000 donation to MSUCOM in memory of Myron S. Magen.
  • Approved financial support for the MSUCOM Silverfest alumni weekend.
  • Approved a contribution to the American Osteopathic Foundation
  • Approved a position paper on BCBSM reform legislation.
  • Approved a position on the appropriate use of recalling of public officials.
  • Supported the “United We Fail” proposal pending discussions with AARP on Medicare reimbursement.

  • Announced the appointment of Gerald Robbins, D.O., to the BCBSM Specialty Advisory committee.
  • Announced Heather Scheper, D.O., as winner of the MOA Outstanding Senior Award for 2008.
  • Announced the appointment of Brian J. Beck, D.O. as MOA’s and nominee to the MDCH Advisory Committee on Pain and Symptom Management.
  • Announced the appointment of Peter Ajluni, D.O. as the MOA nominee to the Certificate of Need Commission.
  • Announced the acceptance of John E. Bodell, D.O. as the MOA appointee to the BCBSM Board of Directors.

  • Updated the board on activities of the Michigan Health and Safety Coalition.
  • Reported that the Partnership for Michigan’s Health will release the fourth edition of The Economic Impact of Healthcare at the Greater Detroit Chamber of Commerce meeting on Mackinac Island.
  • Announced that the AOA Health Policy Fellowship is seeking endorsements for the class of 2009.
