MOA Annual Convention - May 12-15, 2010
The MOA Postgraduate Convention & Scientific Seminar is more than just an educational program. It’s a time to catch up with colleagues and friends you haven’t seen in a while and to reinforce your commitment to the osteopathic profession by participating at the MOA House of Delegates.

Many things happen during the week of convention that you may not be aware of. Aside from the educational programs for physicians, there are also programs for medical students, interns and residents and medical office managers. There are receptions, luncheons, an exhibit hall and other social events that you can take advantage of.

The AOA will be conducting an AOA/MOA Town Hall Meeting to discuss Health Care Reform and Medicare Physician Payment. Light snacks and iced tea will be available.

Advocates for the Michigan Osteopathic Association
The Advocates for the Michigan Osteopathic Association (AMOA) will hold their 66th Annual Convention and House of Delegates on Thursday and Friday during the MOA convention. This annual meeting is an excellent opportunity to learn what the Advocates are doing throughout the year to promote osteopathic medicine not only in Michigan, but throughout the country as they partner with the Advocates for the American Osteopathic Association. MOA Student Program, Friday May 14, 1:45 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Hyatt Regency Dearborn
The MOA Student Liaison Committee welcomes peers to a program they planned featuring Directors of Medical Education from a few osteopathic hospitals in Michigan. The event will be an open dialogue about base hospitals and clinical education allowing students time for DME interaction, each DME is invited to bring a guest student from their hospital as well.  The committee designed the program for MSUCOM first and second year students (although open to anyone).  We are still confirming DME participation, our current featured DMEs include:

I/R and Young Physician Program
The MOA hosts an educational program for interns, residents and young physicians each year. This year’s program is scheduled for Thursday, May 13, 2010. Medical Office Manager Program
For the past 10 years, the MOA has been planning educational programs for medical office managers. This year’s program will cover topics that are both timely and informative. Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification & Re-Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification courses are offered on Thursday & Friday each year during the convention. The dates for this year’s program are May 13-14, 2010. If you are in need of certification or recertification, you’ll want to sign up quickly.
