Blue Cross Blue Shield is promoting a legislative initiative that it is claiming will improve the market for individual insurance products. Its proposal is getting torrid opposition from organizations that see this as a request for the legislature to make BCBSM bigger, stronger and richer, with no improvement in patient care. MOA has thoroughly reviewed the issue and sees the need for legislative changes in individual market regulation, but views the current proposal as unsupportable. Read the MOA position.
