May 29, 2008 Dearborn, Michigan—Grand Rapids’ Metro Health Hospital physicians and medical staff members Mitchell Grohowski, D.O., Nicholas Hoeve, BS, John Key, D.O., Paul Kovack, D.O., Beth Makowski, D.O., Philip Pascucci, RN, BS, Matt Sevensma, D.O., and Eric Walchak, D.O., received first place in the 2008 Michigan Osteopathic Association (MOA) Scientific Research Competition held in conjunction with the MOA’s 109th Annual Postgraduate Convention & Scientific Seminar at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Michigan, from May 14-18. Fifty exhibits were displayed at the convention and entered into the competition. The group of Metro Health Hospital staff received the award and $1,000 dollars for their poster exhibit “Effect of Remote ECG Analysis on Door-to-Balloon Time Percutaneous Intervention for ST Segment Elevation Mycardial Infarction.” The Michigan Osteopathic Association represents more than 7,000 osteopathic physicians and students and promotes osteopathic medicine in Michigan by shaping the health care delivery system to better serve the community.
